Improved study conditions through tuition

Because of the modification of the Bavarian Higher Education Act (bayerisches Hochschulgesetze) from June 1, 2006, tuition has been established for semesters starting with the summer semester of 2007. The introduction of tuition means new challenges for the department of Informatics and enables improvements both in teaching as well as for general study conditions. Starting with an already high level of quality of the major programs at the department, another noticeable improvement has to be reached. Therefore, the department introduced a new concept, which has been deemed “very positive” by the presidential committee of the Technische Universität München. Professors, faculty, and foremost the students have been included in the process of creating the concept.

New measures for the improvement of the study conditions are always welcome. The pertinent form is available online and may be submitted by anyone. The quality assurance committee  decides about approval, degree of continuation, and adaptation of current measures. This committee was established as part of the institutionalization process of the quality assurance at the Department of Informatics and consists of representatives of all levels of the faculty. The students are represented in equal parts by the student council and are involved in every kind of decision making.

If you have any questions regarding quality assurance and want to know how the tuition will be spent then, please feel free to contact Mustapha Maalej.
