The Department of Informatics looks back on 40 years of Informatics: the first lecture in Informatics at Technische Universität München started in 1967. It was also the foundation of a new study program "Informationsverarbeitung" (Information Processing)—the first of its kind in Germany. On October, 26, 2007, the Department of Informatics celebrates its 40th anniversary.
